FAQ's

When running my jewellery stall there are a few things that I often get asked. These include:

Q1. The ring by the clasp on my necklace or bracelet has pulled apart and needs fixing.

A. They usually just need returning to a complete circle again. This is a super simple job. You can either replace the little ring or make this one circular again. Please see the short video on how to open and close a jump ring in my links.

Q2. My earring backs keep slipping off. Help!

A: This is simple. Butterfly backs are just little metal scrolls so if you squeeze the scrolls together towards the hole where the earring goes through they naturally self tighten.

Q3. I've lost an earring back, do you have any more?

A. Yes I can provide new earring backs no problem at all. I have 925 sterling silver ones or little clear silicon rubber ones available.

Q4. Can you change the hooks for studs on your earrings?

A: Yes. I make all of my earrings so that the hooks or studs are interchangeable. I can also swap silver plated hooks for 925 sterling silver hooks or studs if you have sensitive earrings.

Q5. Do you sell any clip-on earrings, as I don't have my ears pierced.

A. Yes, all of my hooks and studs are interchangeable so can be swapped for clip-ons.

Q6. How do I find my ring size? Or my wrist size?

A: You can either go into a jewellers and ask them for your ring size, or your wrist measurement. Or you can click on my video links to see tiny clips of how to measure your finger or wrist.

Q7. What length chain do I need?

A. The standard length chain for women is an 18".

That said, there are a few things to consider when purchasing a chain:

  • Your neck size
  • Where you would like it to come to
  • Whether the chain will have a pendant on it
  • How long the pendant is

There is no point buying something that is too long, so the pendant disappears into your cleavage! Equally, you don't want to feel like you are being strangled by it! The best option is to either measure an existing chain, or use a piece of string or ribbon to work out the correct length.

Q8. The other frequently asked question I get is about postage to the UK because I am from Brighton, but live in France now. A lot of my customers are English and worry about the postage fees post Brexit.

A. Not to worry folks. The postage rates are virtually the same whether I was to post from the UK or France, so no need to worry about that.

You'll find all my little "How to" videos in the links, explaining simple fixing techniques and how to measure your finger, wrist or neck to work out what size you would like your ring, bracelet, anklet, choker or chain. I hope they're helpful!
